If you have just become independent because you have just bought a home<\/a> or rented a home<\/a>, I am going to give you the keys to save on the electricity bill.<\/p>\n

In this article I am going to tell you how to spend what is fair and not waste resources on household bills.<\/p>\n

Although it is true that some rentals have have energy consumption included, it is also true that not all include it and it is not surprising, since the gas or water bill added to the electricity consumption bill can represent in some cases almost 50% of the full rental amount.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t panic. As always, there are certain things that can be done to slow down the rise of electricity prices at home.<\/p>\n

When you are buying a replacement appliance or simply because that old fridge from over 20 years ago wastes electricity like an open oven in the north pole, it’s time to turn your eyes to the appliance store and take a look at those with the best energy consumption. Yes, they are more expensive, but the difference they will give you in consumption is well worth it.<\/p>\n

To give you an idea, the refrigerator is one of the appliances that consumes the most energy in our home – 30% according to the IDAE\u00a0 – the difference between a class A+++ refrigerator and a class C refrigerator is about 175kW compared to 646kW of class C. A real nonsense.<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time that an owner has come across with a contracted power that seems more intended for a bakery or a foundry.<\/p>\n

If you do a small study of the household appliances and electrical devices in your home<\/p>\n

You will be able to calculate the contracted power that is best for you. No need to skimp on this one because you sure don’t want to live in a post-war house with frequent light cuts, but give it a look and you might get lucky.<\/p>\n
