You just found out that there is something called a youth rental bonus, you are young, wanting to rent a home to become a little independent and you have found this article.

Great! because in this article I am going to give you the necessary information so that you know what this is about and what doors to call to start all this. It takes a bit of a hit, but believe me it’s worth it so keep reading.

With the main objective of facilitating access to housing for the so-called young population and with a total annual income that does not exceed a certain amount, the government is about to begin actions for the definitive activation of the youth rental voucher, which is currently it is in the final phase and here it is already the autonomies that have to start the process effectively so that young people can sign up and opt for this very interesting rental aid.

Youth rental bonus

The total budget that the Government of Spain plans to allocate to this item is 200 million euros and it is expected that it can improve access to housing for a total of 70,000 young people.

What is the young rental voucher?

In case you haven’t heard yet, we’re going to explain it to you clearly and directly.

The Spanish government is going to launch an aid so that young people have an easier time renting a house or a room, the aid is 250 euros per month and lasts for two years.

The call will be open continuously and will be destined to the payment of part of the amount of the monthly rent of a house or room.

What requirements must be met to access the youth rental voucher?

As you can imagine, the digital bonus will not magically appear in current accounts, there are some requirements to access them and they are these:

  • Be a natural person and be between 18 and 35 years old, including the age of thirty-five when requesting the aid
  • Be a Spanish or European citizen – Switzerland included – or from another country but with legal residence in Spain
  • The aid can only be used to pay the rent of the house
  • The maximum price of the rented home may not exceed 600 euros per month
  • If it is a room, it cannot exceed 300 euros per month
  • That your income does not exceed the IPREM multiplied by 3 or, what is the same, 24,318.18 euros per year
  • If you are a large family or people with disabilities, the above formula is IPREM x 4
  • IPREM X 5 if you are a special large family or people with severe disabilities
  • All rentals, both the rental of housing and the rental of rooms, must be formalized by means of a legal contract
