For many there is no discussion, to find a place to live the best thing is living in Poblenou. Let’s see if they has the “truth” on their side or if the matter is more controversial.
What was promised is debt, with this article we begin our series of walks through the different neighborhoods, districts and areas of Barcelona.
In this monthly tour we go in search of the best places to move to live, places to walk, places to have fun and places where we will discover the secrets of the city of Barcelona.
We will stop for a drink, we will walk through the most beautiful places, secret places, shops of all life and the most interesting… all in our series of Living in…
On our monthly outing today we stop at the Poblenou neighbourhood, a neighborhood with a lot of history and a great future.
Perhaps the reason to start here is because it is the place from which we operate, with our headquarters in Immobarceló. Poblenou is a spectacular place that we can choose without any problem to live or to start a new project. It is loaded with incredible opportunities.
The Poblenou real estate market
Poblenou is currently a nest of office buildings, startups and the place that large technology company headquarters have chosen to locate themselves, but not everything is company and business.
Mixed with all this, and as a result of the efforts of the city council through the 22@ district program, the area also has some of the most attractive homes in the city.
In addition to that, in Poblenou, the most varied venues are growing: signature restaurants, traditional shops, cultural spaces, modern municipal equipment, superillas…
Without a doubt, what you will not find in Poblenou is boredom and monotony.
As we walk through the neighborhood we realize that on the right hand side we see a place that catches our attention, on the window there is a vintage sign with the name Juanita in very large letters, but in the window what we see are books, it looks like a bookstore – I love the smell of books! new and old too ;D – so I come closer because I’m curious.
Indeed it is a bookstore – Nollegiu – so I go into the store and after having a good time I talk to a man and he recommends the book “Poblenou Desaparegut“.
I don’t think about it, I buy it and I go to the exit, but before leaving I ask him:
Excuse me, could you point me to a good place to eat around here while I look through this book?
Of course! If what you are looking for is a bit of tranquility and good service, go to Bitácora Poblenou
You can judge for yourself, you will not regret it.
So I don’t think about it, I have always been a very open person to new experiences and to follow the recommendations of local people.
I walk, find it, go in and sit down and ask the waiter to serve me a good beer, some patatas bravas and some olives. I give the tastes to me in life.
Meanwhile I start to leaf through the book.
It’s a book about the history of Poblenou, especially made up of images that cover a century of walking through the neighborhood, I am immediately fascinated with all those black and white images and mentally I compare them with the neighborhood through which I have been walking during this morning of the month of June.
There is no doubt, the neighborhood has always been one of the most active places, in every way, in the city of Barcelona.
In recent years, the Poblenou neighborhood has been one of the best areas in which to look for a property to live in, whether in the rental or purchase category, if you decide on this area you will not fail.
When I finish leafing through the book, I realize that it is a bit late.
I apologize to the waiter and pay him the bill in a good manner, but not before asking him about other places in the area that may interest me.
Without thinking much about it, the waiter smiles a little and tells me:
If you really want to see something interesting what you should do is…
But this is for the next chapter.
